Partnering, Handstand, Rhythm & Movement Play

Partnering

We are social beings. We depend on cooperation and community for long-term happiness and health. This workshop is about contact—contact with others and with ourselves. We support and challenge each other lovingly. Here you'll find new training buddies and face new challenges together. Movement sequences and challenges will not only expand our understanding of movement but also bring us together as a group and bring joy.

handstand

The handstand is a very complex movement that is not only a lot of fun, but also focuses our minds and trains the entire body on many different levels.

In this workshop, we'll learn all the basics of the handstand. We'll begin with warm-up exercises for the whole body, focusing on the shoulders and wrists. Through body awareness exercises, we'll learn how to specifically target individual body parts, such as the hips, chest, or feet. This body awareness will help us maintain our balance even overhead. We'll also specifically strengthen individual body areas and learn how to increase our flexibility. This will lay a solid foundation for learning more advanced handstand positions or climbs later.

Movement Play

Play can promote communication, creativity, enjoyment, exploration, and body awareness. Through play, we can get to know ourselves and our fellow players better and improve our skills.
But how can we play to achieve this?
In this workshop, we'll play indoors and outdoors. We'll practice cooperation rather than competition. We'll learn about the difference between "finite" and "infinite" games, and most importantly, have a lot of fun.

Rhythm in motion

Everything follows a rhythm: the seasons, the ebb and flow of the tides, our heartbeat. In dance, we follow musical rhythms or those of our inner expression. In martial arts, the combination of rhythm and timing ensures flexibility, efficiency, and agility. But even acrobatic exercises like the ratchet follow a rhythm. In this workshop, we will explore rhythm in different disciplines and develop a deeper understanding of our bodies.
